  • Herman Lee Lawrence, 84, of Malvern passed away November 30, 2017. Herman was born to the late George and Irene Lawrence on March 1, 1933 in Magnet Cove, Arkansas. Herman served his country in the United States Army and then went on to own a construction company until his retirement. Herman was an outdoorsman that loved to hunt and fish. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather of many children. He loved his family and his friends and they loved him dearly in return.

    Herman is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 49 years, Doris Lawrence, his brother, AJ Lawrence and a sister, Venita Scott.

    Herman is survived by his children, Cheryl (Kirk) Frank of Malvern, Len Lawrence (Barbie) of Magnet  Cove, Renee (Joaquin) Guerrero of San Marcos, CA, Melissa (Steve) Brown of Kensett, AR, Michele (Chuck) Overton of Magnet Cove, Chris (Missy) Smith of Glen Rose, AR, Kimberly (John) Byrd of Malvern. Also his grandchildren, Sarah (Cody) Hampton, Nicholas Lawrence, Crissy (Jason) Hunt, Matthew (Aerielle)  Lawrence, Mark Lawrence, Laura (B.J.) Paul, Kyle Overton, Jeremy (Emily) Overton, Peter Brown, Juaquin Jr., Esti, Charlie, Julia and  Russell along with his siblings, Carl (Emma) Lawrence of Chidester, AR, Betty Sue (Oran) Rodgers of Yellville, AR and Rose Cothern of Malvern.

    A visitation for Herman will be held Friday, December 1, 2017 from 6-8 PM at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Malvern. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel in Malvern. Interment will follow at Magnet Cove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Herman’s grandsons.

    I am so sorry for your loss. Uncle Herman was such a loving man. I always thought of him and his love of fishing whenever I was out on the water. I will always have fond memories of him and the cousins from years past.

    So sorry for your loss. He was a good friend for many years. We had lots of fun fishing together and just visiting! We will miss him! Our love and prayers are with the family.
